    Coins lot

This video has been made partially as a response to some of the negative comments that people most of whom have never played the synth have been making about the DM My experience of using the DM12, its sound and build quality, and my dealings with Behringer and Midas, have been nothing but positive. That seems to be the big remaining question.

But the question will just be whether they do excellent production or whether we see things like cold solders. A secondary concern is whether or not Behringer has reasonably good post-sale service— anyone who is itching to buy one is well advised to make sure they know what the warranty and service is from their retailer.

Yeah, inspired by the The guys from Midas who designed it have mentioned it in interviews and demos. I noticed some similar things. To my ear, the main difference in the raw waves is just that the square types have more fundamental frequency on the DM12, which I think could easily be matched with a little HPF.

The resonant filter sweep showed that the DM12 has a much wider cutoff range, and it also revealed a bunch of aliasing in the high frequencies. Bottom-line, I completely agree with your assessment. No match. JUNO 60 remains king. The DM12 shouldnt even be compared. Why compare them? Still I prefer de Juno sound better. But maybe im just a stupid dork. I bought a brand new Juno 60 back in the day, when Roland discontinued the model and offered them at significantly reduced prices.

That being said, with what is available nowadays, why anyone would choose to pay big bucks for an old Juno is beyond me. I feel bad for those suckers who pay over a grand for an old Juno. But hey, as long as someone is buying at exorbitant prices, someone is selling at exorbitant prices.

Value is in the eye in this case also the ear of the beholder. When Roland discontinued the Juno 60, they significantly lowered the price to get rid of them.

Yes, that's correct Do not update.Exemplifying the art of communication between manufacturer and community Uli Behringer has posted a question on the Gearslutz forum. Do you want a desktop DeepMind 12? While this is a working sample, we have not yet decided if we will actually put it in production. In order to achieve an attractive sales price that is below the keyboard version, we would require substantial production volume. I guess the process Behringer are going through is to balance the possibility of new sales with the amount of work involved and the possible cannibalisation of the keyboard sales.

The choice between keyboard and desktop synth is always one that has me in circles. Personally I think they will garner enough interest or even pre-orders to make it a reality. What do you think? Would you prefer a desktop version of the Behringer DeepMind 12? Your email address will not be published. For a better experience on Gearnews, we recommend JavaScript to be enabled.

They also have more keys 49 vs. Oh, and the DeepMinds are also available in a keyboard-less module format too, while the Behringer Odyssey is currently only offered as a keyboard. If you want a lead synth, get the Odyssey, if you want a polysynth, or need to be able to quickly recall all the settings on the synth IOW, "patches" you'll be more attracted to the DeepMind.

Outside of being analog synths, they're really not competing with each other IMO. And again, a lot of keyboardists want to have one of each synth type, and could end up with one of each.

I've recently purchased the Behringer Model D, which is basically a Minimoog Model D clone without a keyboard in a Eurorack style case Behringer also released the K-2, which is essentially a clone of the Korg MS They are really different beasts. I'm sure maybe some may decide on the Oddyssey over the DM But is more of a clone with added features such as effects. Where the DM12 is a new synth.

The Oddyssey is 37 keys and duo-phonic and the filters are clones of the original. The DM12 has 49 keys and is a 12 voice synth. Its filters differ greatly.

So the choice is a clone of a vintage synth or new synth with 12 voicesmore keys, and and more filters. At their prices, many might choose both. I have a Deep Mind 12, not looking for the Oddyssy but adding a Novation Peak to it is an attractive idea to me. I'd say it's a bit more than just a Moog Mini clone Plus it also has better or at least more comprehensive envelopes, as well as onboard effects Roland, what have you DONE???

I know the P-5 used the Curtis chips. I heard that Curtis had died, then someone found a stash of them and they got into the hands of Uli Behringer and his people, so they had the Chinese reverse engineer them and hence, the clone chips.
